Youth Suicide Prevention Grant
Washington State Department of Health received a 5-year youth suicide prevention planning grant from the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The initial grant work will focus on Grays Harbor County, then expand to Pacific County and, later, the city of Forks.
Grays Harbor County Public Health and Social Services Department will use grant funds to (1) coordinate suicide prevention efforts at local clinics and (2) enhance our local surveillance of suicide and suicide attempts. The Youth Suicide Prevention Program (YSPP) (a statewide agency headquartered in Seattle) will use grant funds to coordinate suicide prevention efforts throughout the community.
